Things You Should Consider Before Visiting any Country

Traveling gives us a sense of freedom. We discover a new world and earn new experiences. However, not all traveling end up as a blissful vacation. Recently, the terror attack in Paris gave the city a new impression. It used to be a safe and carefree city for vacationers, yet, a night of fun and art have been turned into tragedy. Though terrorism can strike anytime at the most unexpected place, it should not hinder you from exploring great places.

Theft. Tourists are the most vulnerable target for thieves. Before you hang that expensive camera around your neck like a necklace, make sure that the area is highly safe. European cities usually have the lowest stealing incidents, but you have to be cautious all the time. When visiting developing countries in some parts of Asia, South America, and Africa, it’s best to be street smart all the time.

Kidnapping. Sadly, tourists became victims of different terrorist groups and the retrieval operation didn’t always went well. Dos Palmas is a mystical resort in Palawan, Philippines. It’s a popular tourist destination until present. But let’s not forget the tragic incident on that resort where an American missionary couple was kidnapped and taken in the mountains of Mindanao. The wife survived, but the husband didn’t.

Drug prevalence. The food, beaches, and tourist attractions in Mexico are to die for. But, it’s also known globally for being a drug infested country where society is ruled by drug tycoons. Mexico’s reputation is not typically a magnet to tourists. But just make sure to practice safety precautions whenever you are in public places.

Extreme Weather Conditions. If you came from a tropical country, you might be overwhelmed with the cold temperature of London, Canada, or Iceland. Same applies if you’re used to living in a place with constant below 10◦C of temperature. Make sure that the destination you’ve chosen to visit for your next vacation has a climate that is closely similar to your country to make the transition easier.

Threat of Terrorism. Unfortunately, terror groups continuously threatens every nation in the world. At present it appears that their target are focused on strong counties like America, Belgium, Paris, and Russia. Check the track of terrorism in the place you’re planning to visit.

Cost of Living. Though traveling can really cost a lot of money, it’s better to learn to control your savings. The cost of living in a certain place says a lot on how you’re about to spend your money. If the expenditure in a certain country is huge, expect that their tourism can be quite pricier too. The solution to this is living like the locals do. Skip on staying on extravagant hotels or dining in lavish restaurants.

Traffic Situation. What’s worse than travelling abroad is experiencing the same kind of traffic you have back home. Sometimes if the place is overly populated, expect busy streets and heavy traffic. Although there are countries with really good traffic schemes and wide roads.
