Things to Avoid in your Hotel Room

Every guest should be aware about their actions inside the hotel. Like what they say, hotels are your home away from home but at a very expensive cost. There are certain things to worry about when staying at the hotel other than your bill. In order to make your stay truly fulfilling, here are some of the things you must avoid.
Never attempt to lean on windows especially if you’re staying at the top floors. There are plenty of tragedy involving hotel windows and the most famous one is when a two year old girl fell two stories from a hotel window. The poor kid was taken to the hospital in critical condition but miraculously survived. If fresh air is what you aim for, you can always step outside the hotel room rather than risking your life.
A minibar full of goodies is hard to resist. Though you’ve been telling yourself that you wouldn’t touch that tempting chocolate truffle and ice cold champagne, you still end up doing so. At the end of your stay, you are shocked with the amount of your bill. To avoid this inconvenient situation, never play with the minibar. Picking up and item and eventually putting them back in place already triggered sensors that add up to your bill. Requesting the front desk to empty the minibar before your arrival is not a good idea as well since you’ll be responsible for the restocking charge.
Don’t drink water from the glassware. You have no idea where those water came from. Sadly, the number one cause of stomach upsets from travelers are due to contaminated drinking water. Most certainly you don’t want to ruin your posh trip in Tuscany because of loose motions. Which is why it pays a lot in investing on bottled waters instead of drinking straight from the glass.
Your privacy and safety is very important during your stay. Never let anyone know your room number. In case the front desk mistakenly announced your room loudly, ask for a different room. Tourists are some of the primary targets of criminals from around the world, the last thing you want is letting a psycho determine the room where you’re staying.
Yes you can surely take home those free soaps and lotions. But, make sure to leave everything as it is. Modern hotels are equipped with sensors, therefore, they can easily detect anything that was taken out of the room. So if you thought that there’s no CCTV to catch you, wait until the manager approaches you or worst if you see an additional expenses on your bill.
Lastly, never ignore the ratings and reviews of the hotels online. It will give you an idea about the experiences of the previous guests who stayed at the hotel. You cannot rely entirely on the advertisements and picture perfect gallery. At the end of your stay, don’t forget to write a review as well in order to guide other guests who’s planning to book on the same hotel.
