Airline Travel Don’ts

We all know that the job of flight attendants is to make your airline travel as comfortable as possible. But that doesn’t mean that you should always rely on them at all times. If you wish to be friends with flight attendants, there are some things that you should avoid doing. These are some of them:

·         Ringing the call bell for mundane reasons.
The call bell is provided for passengers so they can get the attention of flight attendants. However, you should only ring the bell if you really need something important like medical emergencies, baby issues and many more. You should avoid ringing the bell too much, especially if you would just like to get your drinks or if you just your pillow fluffed. Keep in mind that you are not on a private jet and you are not the only one in the plane. The flight attendants have about hundred passengers to attend to too.

·         Not paying respect to the flight attendants.
Many people think that flight attendants are just servers. However, you should understand that they are much more than that. In fact, they are jack-of-all trades as they have to be nurse, security guards, bouncer and negotiator rolled in one. During unfortunate events, they can become your lifesaver too. These people have gone through great lengths to attend trainings just so they can be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to give you the service you need while you are up in the air. Because of this, you should treat them with respect.

·         Waiting until the last minute to order food.
Please keep in mind that the amount of food in the plane is quite limited. That is why it is recommended that you should avoid waiting the very last minute until your order your food. Many passengers do this and they end up making a fuss when they do not get their meal of choice. We recommend that you inform the airline ahead of time about any allergies that you may have so they can reserve the right meal for you.

·         Expect the flight attendants to be your babysitters.
If you are traveling with a child, the flight attendants will be more than happy to provide you some assistance but do not expect that they will take care of your child or children at all times.
We know that an airline travel is the most convenient way to travel around the world (because of the short duration) but it does come with some inconveniences. After all, what can be more inconvenient than staying in a cramped and crowded metal tube flying up in the air, right? Well, avoid doing the things mentioned above and you can make your air travel a bit more comfortable.
